I am booking a partial island/oceanview at the Hyatt for my honeymoon in late October 2005. I was wondering if anyone knew the likelihood of possibly getting a room upgrade free from the Hyatt at checkin. If so, what types of rooms have people gotten?

I have been told the policy of the Hyatt is: If at check in your room is not ready then they owe you a free upgrade for that stay. If you are vacationing in October ( low season) I wouldn't be surprised if they offer you an upgrade for your special occasion. you can always ask. Or they may give you the upgrade for a discounted price. The upgrade rooms are the suites or the regency club rooms. Allows you access to the regency club offers continental breakfast, cocktail hour nightly, and concierge service. Good luck! Congratulations!

you can get an upgrade ,depending upon availability,of course.if a travel agent booked your trip,tell her or hiim to register you as a honeymoon couple... they are very accomodating as long as they have the space... and make sure when you check in that you tell them that you are on your honeymoon..have fun and congratulations!you are going to love the hyatt...

Agree with what has been said. However, if there is no space upon arrival, check back the next day and the day after that. I did that and got an upgrade when space became available. Can't hurt to ask. Worst that could happen is they could say "no".

I agree with what has been said so far. My wife and i have been staying at the Hyatt for over 10 years now and we go there in late October too. Since we have been going there, we always have been upgraded toa suite. We know the staff quite well. They are very accommdating to hneymooners. Just have your travel agent mentioned this to the Hyatt. Usually you will find rooms at this time of year. Of course, there is no guarentee. Last year(tthe last week in October) when we were there, the hotel was full. No matter what happens, the Hyatt will make your honemoon worthwhile and you will love the Hyatt and the staff. We have been staying at the Hyatt in Aruba for the past 16years straight and the one way we have gotten a free upgrade is being a Hyatt Platnium Passport member.
