I got my tickets!!!

We just had a baby boy and thought we weren't going to be able to go this year, but while dreaming of previous years we decided to check airfare. Prices are back down to the Air Aruba days! I almost cried when my wife booked the flight for the 4 of us! See you in July, Aruba!

197 days and counting!

Maryann,

We're flying Continental from Newark NJ. Two adults, a kid and a baby on a lap was around $1500 with taxes, about half the cost of last year when the cheapest flight was US Air.

Re: I got my tickets!!!

Please do not sit next to me on the flight with a crying baby, nothing worse than a crying baby on the whole ride down to Aruba. Not to mention air pressure changes on a plane can really hurt an infants ears. Who would want to put a baby thru that?

Re: I got my tickets!!!

Gary,

My little girl if 4 year old and has been to Aruba that many times. Not once has she cried on a plane. We've even been complimented on how good she is. The new little one has the same personality and we probably won't have any problem with him either. You probably heard that all babies cry on airplanes from Dr. Phil, but I'll tell you what. If you are on my plane and sit next to me, I'll cry for the four and a half hours for you so you won't be dissapointed. Maybe my son will join me in a duet.

For those who don't read/speak english well and want to know the english term for part of Gary's statement in this thread, it's called a fallacy. While it is true that airplane pressure can cause pain a baby's ears, airplane pressure does not cause pain in all baby's ears. Gary says it does either because he read it somewhere, heard it some where or more likely from one or more bad experiences that can, and often do lead to a line of thinking that seems logical, but is really not. The truth is that the kids can be crying around Gary for any number of reasons including hunger, bad parenting, or Gary sitting next to them.

Fallacys can be anywhere from humorous to downright devistating to entire cultures. For example, if Gary smells bad, assuming and saying all people named Gary smell bad can be funny if you are not named Gary. However, if someone on the island of Gary is accused of something bad and the media makes it sound like everyone on the island of Gary is bad, then Gary's island will suffer because the rest of the world was presented with fallacy in a way that made it sound like a fact and most people believe everything they see and hear in the media, even if it is on theonion.com. The Onion looks real, but it's not. It's a parody of real news sites. If you believe http://www.theonion.com/content/node/41692 then you need help.

And for your continuing education credits, you can read the following Dr. Gary:

Have a great day everyone, inluding you Gary! Don't take this thread personally, I'm a big fan of British Comedy. Most of this was inspired by a Monty Python skit called "A Lesson In Logic" from "The Album Of The Soundtrack Of The Trailer Of The Film Of Monty Python And The Holy Grail" CD. There is a clip of it on Amazon.com. However, I am willing to go on arguing, but that will be $20 for the next 15 minutes.

Great response chad, Gary claims to be an avid tourist to Aruba and the Tamarjin. Glad to see someone put him in his place, controversy always follows his posts. He had dissapeared for a while but his ugly face pops up again.
