Info on int'l roaming fees for vzw customers

this is a breakdown on the cost associated with making calls on your verizon wireless phone. you can use it service with ALL phones regardless of their international calling capabilities as vzw has an international roaming agreement with aruba allowing calls to be made via their existing networks.

i know that AT&T also has this feature but the pricing plan may be different.

again, sending text messages is the cheapest way to go.

Verizon Wireless currently has international roaming agreements with over 25 countries to where our customers will be able to make and receive calls from their phones for a flat roaming fee. Aruba is one of those countries you can make and receive calls on your phone.

A free international dialing feature is required on your account in order for you to make and receive calls in Aruba. I have confirmed that this feature is active on your line.

Please note, for Aruba, you would be charged at a flat roaming rate of [$0.69/$1.29/$2.49] per minute plus the servicing carrier’s taxes that are billed on a pass-through basis. Verizon Wireless does not have the tax information for the international carriers. Regardless of the phone number that you call or that calls you, this charge is applied to all incoming calls, outgoing calls, and calls to your voice mail. There are no peak and off-peak hour difference for the cost of the calls. All calls are charged the same rate all day and all night. The IN Calling minutes do not apply when you are internationally roaming.

Text messaging is available for Aruba. You would be billed at $0.50 to send and $0.05 to receive a text message while you are there. Picture and video messaging is not currently supported in Aruba.

I just returned from Aruba and it looks like I got charged $1.99 per minute. Also be sure to keep an eye on attempted calls. I was charged for ALL of the calls that I made (even the ones that did not connect.)

I think "Rogers" in Canada is part of this feature with "Digicel". I tried seeing if I got a signal/connection with my "Rogers" SIM card but nothing. Even after changing the frequency.
I changed to my "Digicel" SIM card and changed the frequency and it was fine.
