I recently got the chip shown below:
![]() The person I got it from is pretty sure it came from Aruba, but not where or when. If anyone is in Aruba or going soon and visits the casinos, if you could just look at the chips on the roulette tables and tell me if you see any that look like the chip above. All I need is the casino name, and whether they still have the brown ones in play. Also, if you could see if the chips in play have the black inner ring, I would like to know that, too. Thank you. |

Could be. Of course, past casinos include the Aruba Palm Beach and the The Palms (one of the precurser to the Cool Casino now at the Riu). I am hoping I can get an eye witness. Hopefully, someone who sees this, and frequents the casinos, can glance at the roulette tables one day, and will happen to see chips like this. You don't even have to play the game.

I posted on one of the boards a few years ago about this similar chip:
![]() The funny thing about that chip was that the person I received it from brought the chip back himself. It took a few weeks of thinking about where they had played roulette before he remembered he got it from the Key Largo casino. I'm still not 100% sure about that one. The palm tree chip is at least a few years old, maybe more, and the person I got it from has no idea how he got it! He seems sure though, that it came from Aruba. I'm hoping that it did, and that they are still being used. Otherwise, it's a mystery.

That's the place, and yes, people gamble there. My understanding is that it was originally intended as a temporary replacement for the Royal Cabana, while it was being re-built. Now, it is anybody's guess whether the Royal Cabana will ever be replaced. In hindsight, it is too bad the other La Cabana owners didn't prevail and gain control of it (I have never stayed nor owned in either of the former La Cabana's).
Here is a picture of their current $5 chip: ![]() And their playing cards:
