iPhone Aruba Guide App

If anyone is interested, I found a great iPhone app that's called "Aruba Guide" by Ur Creations. The cost is only $0.99 and it is an offline app. I was apprehensive but willing to give it a try. After the purchase, I was pleasantly surprised how extensive it is. It breaks down to 5 main categories:

1. Water Activities
Shows all beaches, dive and snorkel sites, activities, who to contact and how to get there.

2. Land Activities & Golf
Shows shopping, car rentals, tours, sightseeing and much more.

3. Restaurants
The restaurant list is pretty amazing and it broken down into 20 categories such as American, Aruban, Dutch, Vegetarian, etc. Each restaurant listed gives a brief description, hours, phone number, location, etc.

4. Night Life
Shows casinos, shows, cruises, party buses, bars, etc.

5. Kids Friendly
Shows water and land activities, restaurants & sightseeing

There is also a street map of the whole island and has some kind of offline GPS technology that will find your location. I can't vouch for this function since I am not there to physically test it out but it sounds great.

Edit: I just looked and it has a planner on it as well. You can click an activity or restaurant and it will add it to your planner so you can keep it all organized.

This is a great tool so you won't have to carry around tons of brochures or ever be uncertain of what to do or where you are at.

I'm sure they have it available for other phones as well.

FYI. If it is the same one we bought for 99 cents, this app has been around for a couple of years. I am not sure when it was last updated. Restaurants do change, so double check before you go.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on the forum so I thought I would add it. It does say it gets updated frequently for free. Looks like it was updated February 10th, 2010.

Thanks! I know this app suits my exact needs and I know it will be helpful to others. This $0.99 app will be saving me from renting a smart phone for $50 just to look all this info up on the go.
