Item #2 Get away from the 7 feet of snow that I have in my back yard right now

Making plans for Aruba has been the only thing to help keep my sanity. I also have all my Aruba photos streaming on a digital frame in the living room

Peg, I would be losing my mind if I was living where you are. We haven't had snow this year but this weekend we are supposed to have single digits and lots of wind. I plan on not leaving my house!

What's been happening with the weather here in northeast Ohio is that we get a bunch of snow/temps upper 20s, then the temps rise for one day to the 40s, then the next night down to -1. It has become a pattern and with the melting and freezing of snow we now have skating rinks for parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. In some places the ice is 3 or so inches thick. My son and I were out last weekend when it hit 45 trying to chip away at the ice ramp at the end of our driveway that was created by the plows. We were successful in creating a curb.

    Back to trip planning!!

    Restaurants and Snorkeling

One week to go, but unfortunately the temps at home are going to be lower than our countdown ticker this weekend. So what's a girl to do but keep thinking about Aruba!

We're thinking about renting a car for a day to visit some other beaches. I have a snorkel and mask but no fins. I'm trying to decide if I should buy some or just rent when we are there since I really will only use them once or twice a year. Does anyone know if there is a place close to the surf club where I could rent fins?

Daimari Beach question - Is the only way to get to this beach on the same road as the Natural pool? If so we may have to wait till next time when plan on doing to the Sunrise Tour.

Any favorite beaches we should consider? For now we plan on stops at Arashi for snorkeling and Eagle for relaxing and a food truck lunch.

Now on to the restaurant list, right now our only definite reservation is for Wacky Wahoo. I'm sure we will do appetizers at Pelican's Nest our first night. Here's the list of possibilities.

    Fancy dinners:
    Top Possibilities- new to us:
    Quinta Del Carmen
Marina Pirata (only if we have a car for the day - I won't add $25-30 each way for a taxi)

    2nd Tier Possibilities:
    Chalet Suisse
    Yemanji

    Maybe, just maybe:
Madame Jeanettes - still haven't been
    Seafood Extravaganza buffet at Marriott

    Casual/early bird optons
    Barneys
    Tango
    Fermins
    Fishes and More
Not sure when, but we will be back

I'd be definately up for Quinta del Carmen with all the positive reviews. Mme J's is always on our list and has never be less than outstanding for us. If you do Fishes n More.... Tuesday has the early bird special all night... you do have to ask for that menu. I really miss the Tango dancers at Tango, but it's still a good place to dine and also has an early bird special each night and entertainment.

We tried Fishes and More, Tango, and Barneys all for the first time last trip thanks to reviews here and we loved all of them. That early bird at Fishes was one of our favorite meals, and such a great value!
