    July 4th 2013 - Fireworks

I know some of the hotels put on some small fireworks displays for the US Independence day. Does anyone know which hotels are doing it this year (2013)?

We are taking the sunset Red Sail catamaran ride and hoping to watch the fireworks from the beach somewhere.

    Thanks

Will do - there is always a bunch of good info in the paper we get each day. Hyatt is perfect-- I think the boat is going out from the Hyatt pier. Might be a Bugaloe night -- Mia is 19 months old now --- just about right for a bar!

Not sure why Aruba would have fireworks on the 4th of July? If you visit another country it is courtesy to respect their holidays and customs.

Some of Aruba's resorts as a courtesy and perk to their guests from the USA do the celebration . I think it is a nice thing. Some of the resorts are USA corporations. Radisson. Hyatt. Marriott to name a few.

I thought it was a bit odd that a US holiday would be celebrated in a Carribean Island... But - they do. There are many American Tourists and a lot of the hotels are American hotels and therefore there is a celebration. I dont think anyone on the Island takes it as disrespect.

Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo and some other foreign holidays have small celebrations in the United States even though they are foreign holidays and noone seems to mind. A celebration is a CELEBRATION!

i wouldn't say that they "celebrate" 7/4, but rather, that they do it for the tourist's enjoyment considering that most of the tourist down there this week are Americans.

just like how they prepare a thanksgiving menu during the holidays.

I think it is spectacular that the resorts and our Aruban friends help the folks from the USA celebrate !

Just came back from aruba - the Hyatt did put on a fireworks show at 9PM. it only lasted 5 minutes or so, but it was decent. You could see it from palm beach.

Yeah - just got home. We caught the Hyatt fireworks show from the Playa Linda Beach Bar -- it was less than 8 minutes long, but it was a nice way to end the day.

I'll try to get a full report up when I catch up with my "real" work!
