We love ABC but this year getting a papala was a bear. This getting up very early and getting your spot is quite a workout. The new papalas are close to each other too. Manchebo's papalas are so spread out and never seem to be full. They have a great Spa, breakfast, restaurant and bar. We looked at prices there and they are 3 x the amount of ABC for the week.We paid $750 for the week in high season at ABC. It looks like you can get AI or not. Love to get any cost savings tips from you for staying there. We are willing to go off season to make it work. Maybe a package deal or not getting ocean deluxe?
Thanks for any info Sean and Susan
Check with MCM tours for a package deal. Never been disappointed with Guy's help. jetBlue also seems to have competitive package deals as well. Personally would never do AI, but it is available. You can save about 50 per night with garden view. We do go off season so there is a savings there. Saved on breakfast by grabbing an apple from the lobby to go with our granola bar from home. Frankly, it's the one trip we do each year and if it's a little more money to do it the way we want it's OK with us. Our number one priority is the beach and Manchebo delivers.... and you can still get a palapa at 10 if you choose to!

Has anyone considering Manchebo ever done the comparison to Bucuti standard rooms? Bucuti includes breakfast and room taxes in their rates so I'm wondering if the two would be comparable in the slower seasons? One deal breaker for my husband is the strict smoking policy at Bucuti.
We are like Sean and Susan in that we've done the super low rate at ABC, but it's hard to walk past Manchebo every day without wanting to stay there.
We actually would consider their all inclusive package if I verify what kind of beers are included. We could eatell lunch at Pega Pega every day of our lives and be satisfied. If you stay more than 4 nights, they also include an off property dinner. I would really have to put the spreadsheet to work before making the AI decision though.

Good tips guys. cpjones if you didn't know at Manchebo in the morning they put out free coffee and tea. The apple is a nice touch. If you ask the girls, they will give you a free oatmeal cookie they have hidden under the bar -so good. They used to put them out, but 1 or 2 people would grab them all, so they stopped that. I know the AI would be out for us but the garden view ( got to see where that is and what it looks like) and MCM tours and Jetblue (has a Manchebo Package?) is good to know. Do you think the first floor is better or do you like 2nd floor better? Tracceyd14 we love Pega Pega too for food and drinks. If you take care of that wonderful bartender he really takes care of you.
    Thanks Sean and Susan

Tracey, I had compared Manchebo to Bucuti last year and the Bucuti was a few hundred more for for a weeks stay. Keep in mind Bucuti includes breakfast and appetizers at happy hour. When you look at Bucuti's website their room rate includes taxes. The Manchebo adds taxes after you select the room. I didn't feel the price difference to be significant. All that said, the Bucuti is remodeling the Tara Suites in May/June, then the prices go up. Also, the Bucuti charges significantly more in high season.

We're starting to plan a trip. I would have liked to go in May but Bucuti is all booked so I'm torn between booking at Manchebo or waiting until November and booking the Bucuti.

When you are a return guest at Manchebo, they give you a very nice fruit basket. I would eat that for breakfast in the mornings. Hubby likes DD, so he would pick up some donuts the night before, and have that with the fruit. We have always stayed in an oceanview room on the second floor. They have beautiful views. We love Pega Pega, for lunch and for happy hours. They used to let you order appetizers there around dinner time, that came from one of the restaurants, but I don't think that we were able to do the the last time that we stayed there.

MCM doesn't list a Manchebo package... jetBlue does. Guy went out of his way to help us out... (the power of a loyal repeat customer...!)... You can see garden view photos on Trip Adviser..

I could see it more for add on nights, like 3 or 4 days than a full week. In that area, there weren't a lot of happy hours we were interested in. If we ever did go AI again, it would be with the understanding that if we felt like going somewhere else, we wouldn't let that stop us.

Thanks cpjones, I was going crazy trying to find MCM Manchebo package and now I know why I coulnt find it. We did look at garden view on Manchebo's website-still very nice. We checked out prices and most " months we can go are sold out already for next year. So I guess we will be back at ABC. We stay a couple extra nights and Manchebo would be out of our budget even without A.I and getting a garden view. I'll check out Jet-blue for a miracle. We didn't realize what a price difference between ABC and Manchebo before.Well we can still got to their spa and bar and restaurant. It would be tough starting a Go-Fund-Me page here for the difference since everyone here want to go to Aruba their-selves.
    LOL Sean and Susan

Actually the 'Go Fund Me' page would be easy to set up.... tougher to see it fill up.....!
