La Cabana

Hi Folks, we haven't been to Aruba in a while and plan on going this year. Anyone have any recent information on LaCabana?

Re: La Cabana

well the 2 buildings are seperate entities now. 2 different management companies now. fololis is a new resturant on the property. the day spa by the pool is open a little price there. all rooms need updating but they are ok for the amount of time you are going to be in the room. the pizza place on the property is pretty good. it is good for a cheap dinner if you don't feel like going out and don't want to leave the pool. don't know what else to say. people from the villas can't use the brc pool and the brc side supposedly can't use the villa pools. villas can't charge anything to their rooms from the brc side shops resturants or bars same goes for the brc side can't do the same on the villas side. any more info you need you can email me and i will answer the best way possible

LaCabana is geat, stayed 4 times. Great beach, very nice resort, casino has reopened. Short distance to the north end, or to downtown, great maid service. You can't go wrong at LaCabana.

Re: La Cabana

I was there in October 2005 and mostly recently October 2006. From my understanding, the timeshare buildings are now under separate ownership, and they were in a transition phase the last time I was there. The only noticable things were that there was two separate check out/in areas, and two separate towel areas for timeshare people vs. regular vacation goers.

Other than that, there wasn't anything too differant - I did notice in the beginning of our vacation an overwheling amount of children in the pool area - and there were some rumors going around that it was management/staff's families. This died down though during the course of our week there, thank God!

My advice is, as long as you are getting a good price, then La Cabana is fine. I've checked prices, and they look like they have gone up a bit. If I do end up going back to Aruba this year, I may try somewhere differant, esp. if the $$$ is now the same as other places.

Best of Luck!
Linda
