La Cabana Wi-fi and Internet
I unfortunately have to take my work with me if I want to go for 11 days to Aruba. Part of that is I must bring my laptop. I use wireless in the states but it will not work on the Island. You can purchase a wirelss card and program, easy to install, for $5/day but it only works in the lobby's. It is .20/monute to connect.
Or you can use the room internet but I heard many people complain they couldn't get on. Your best bet is to go upstairs by The Cadushi bar where you will find a number of computers. Easy to use. Just sign in with your room number and name, pick how many minutes you would like to be on, and go. These computers are fast so to get out a few quick e-mails to friends and loved ones would probably take 10-15 minutes or $2 to $3. Much cheaper than making a call back home.
Another tid-bit of info...you can use your own cell phone on the Island, must be a Motorola. I understand you buy an Arubian phone number, which you keep for life, and you get a chip that installs into your cell. Then you can make calls to the states or anywhere. Unfortunately that is all the info I have but Setar behind the MacDonalds up by the high-rises can provide all the info. There is a Setar downtown also. Just be careful what the charges are per minute.
I hope this helps.
Thanks and Enjoy Aruba!
