    LaCabana Casino Open

LaCabana Beach Reasort and Casino.......Casino opened last night.
Someone is forwarding me some photos.

At one point i heard the name of it was to be "glitz"
then more recently i was told, that is not the name.

So til we hear the real name, i'll refer to it as Lacabana's Casino.

(located in the area the formerly housed the Captains Table restaurant in Lacabana's main lobby building, first floor)

    Ooooooohhhhh!!

Oh, I want to see pictures, hear stories, descriptions!!!

Now let's see, how can I get some chips, playing cards, players/slot card, business card...

If anyone can take a picture/scan of a chip, it would tell us the name of the casino and I could get to see a chip. I want to hear more. Are there any articles in any of the online papers?

Yeah, I checked, too. Not too good for La Cabana. The Trop Club Casino opening was covered. The La Cabana people should have made sure it was covered, too.

I saw, somewhere else, that the name Glitz Casino may not be the name they are finally using. It seems to me that you have the have the name set way in advance to order chips, dice, playing cards, slot cards, blackjack felts, craps felts, etc., but what do I know? Is there anyone in Aruba now who can go there and verify what name is on the gaming equipment? And if you wanted to pick up a few things to sell to me, that would acceptable too.

    casino at lacabana

We were there for 9 days. They were supposed to have a soft opening last week, then it was "tomorrow", and" maybe tomorrow." The employees were there, dressed in their Glitz uniforms for days. Wednesday night it finally did open and it was jammed at 10pm. When we left the next day(Thurs, Dec6) it had not reopened by 1:30 in the afternoon. They have tons of slots, and table games, a bar on the lower level. I think Lacabana just rents the space, does not actually run the place. I'm not a fixed week owner, so I don't know if they get a percentage. I do know the developer/owner of the casino paid to remodel the space and paid Lacabana rent after a certain period of delays in construction. There was no signage listing opening hours, when the Grand Opening would be. All the employess had Vegas styled casino shirts with the casino name embroidered on the shirts, and in some cases suit jackets. Glitz was that name.
