the little leaguers comming to williamsport...
williamsport is not far from me and i told son we could go out and see them...then son had an idea....if the team is flying into newark they have to go right by here to get to williamsport..not so for philly....he and his friends want to make a banner for them to see as they are driving down route 80. if there is anyone in aruba that has any idea when they are flying in(date) and if its into newark.....the boys would love to do this. any info would be great...thanks!

The LLB senior league world series is going on in Bangor, that's 14-15 year olds. The Little League world series is 11 and 12 (13 with the right birthday) and takes place in Williamsport. I grew up in Williamsport and my father worked at LLB for a decade or so. I spent a lot of years there as a volunteer helping to put together their first internet broadcasts. I still know a lot of people that work there. The Mid-Atlantic team will either be from Paramus NJ or a small town in the next county over from Williamsport. That final was suspended due to rain earlier today.

Aruba North Little League earned a berth in the Little League World Series to be played in Williamsport, PA Aug. 18-28.
I am a 15-time visitor to Aruba (owner at Playa Linda). I am also an umpire and will be umpiring the LLWS, so I will be happy to see the Aruban Little Leaguers there. The tournament in Bangor, ME is the Senior League (an older age division of Little League). I just checked and the Aruba South League (San Nicolas) is playing there. By the way, CindyO, you would be very happy if the Cumberland RI team plays against Aruba. That would mean both made it to the Championship game! Last edited by rpumpire; 08-14-2011 at 11:46 PM. |

Congrats on making it to the series, some of my best memories are from hanging out with the umps and listening to all the off-the-wall experiences. I think they finally replaced the old umpire house down by the river with better accommodations a few years ago. Send me a PM if you want any suggestions for dining options away from the complex.
