low airfare

The airfare from newark straight flight is now down to 300 something. Do you think this has to do with a drop of people going to Aruba due to all the publicity? I love it there. My heart goes out to both mothers being one myself but I would not let 1 incident go against the entire island. Please let me know if you are seeing the difference

Re: low airfare

Try flying from phoenix....it's 850.
Not so cheap, but I've been there and like going so it's ok.
I think the one incident is not reflective of the island just like anything else. Media has dramatised it. You have to be careful no matter where you go and don't be a smart xss.

Re: low airfare

I just returned 2 days ago, and there's no shortage of tourists. Hotels, cars and restaurants are stuffed with people. I suspect the reason fares have dropped is that airfares always drop in the fall! They need to fill planes. I made my Aruba reservations in Mar., well before anybody ever heard of Ms. Holloway. I wasn't about to change them, nor are most people, I think. Locals seem to be very concerned, but hey, life goes on for the rest of us. It's a darned shame, but...

Who knows, but the airfare is very affordable now no matter what departure city, surprised because of the rising fuel cost?? i'll be there in November

Re: low airfare

Our flight just went down $142 for two round trip tickets. Not a fortune but thanks to someone on this board I did get the savings. Thank You!

I just returned on the 29th and there is no shortage of tourists in Aruba. I know for a fact that our hotel was sold out.

Re: low airfare

Which airline or service has that price. We were in Aruba in June and would love to go back in October. We have been going to Aruba annually for 9 years and love it. I have compassion for the familys involved in the current tragic situation but it will not change our opinion of Aruba.

Re: low airfare

I guess it depends on when you are going to Aruba. This is the off season.
