Making calls to US

Does anyone know what choices I have in regards to being able to call home on a very few occasions to let everyone know all is well. Is there a calling card or something I can purchase with minutes and can make the calls from my hotel room.

We purchase calling cards in Aruba to 'check-in' with the family while we are on the Happy Island.

Enjoy your vacation,

Bob

If you are going to only make calls and not receive them and these calls are going to be short and only once in a while, the claling card is a good way to go.

If you would like to receive calls, there are other alternatives.

The phone company in town sells calling cards for $5/8 minutes. They work very well.

Re: Making calls to US

We just got back from Aruba this past Saturday. We bought a 40 minute phone card for $18 at SETAR. You can use it at many of the timeshares where you see the black telephones. No problems using the phone card. They are also available at many stores in town or the low rise or high rise hotels. If you are going to make alot of calls, I would rent a cell phone. Although we decided that we really weren't going to make that many calls or get any calls, if I were to rent a cell phone I would get it from Charles at Arubafastphones. Some of our friends rented from him and were very happy with the reception and connections.

You can also go to the phone store near the Alhambra Casino where they charge 25 cents per minute to anywhere in the states or Canada. They are open from 4pm to 11pm.

I would purchase an international calling card at your hotel. You can get 15 min for about 8.00. Much easier.

There is an internet cafe downtown that is very reasonable. I believe it was $.25 per minute for the telephone and they also have internet connections very reasonable.

Get a Vantaha calling card it is by far the best way to call the US. I have family there and they use it to call the US. Have fun.

Re: Making calls to US

Before you call from your room PLEASE check the hotel charges. They are astronomical and are in addition to the calling cards.
