I wonder if the Marriott will allow guests to use the pools at the Ocean or Surf Club when they have to close the pool area for construction? Anyone know?

I am staying at the Stellaris in mid-December because I got an amazing rate on Priceline so figured the construction would be ok with me for this rate! But I am hoping that the rooms are all updated by then so that we don't get stuck in the bad rooms due to using PL?

I emailed the hotel to ask the same question. They said that the surf club does not allow the hotel guests to use the pool at all, but that the Ocean club allows this. The answer I got from the hotel was a little unclear as they didn't come out and say yes, you can use the ocean club pool during renovations - they just said that it is not allowed at all by surf club, but is allowed by ocean club. Does anyone know the answer for sure? Can hotel guests use the ocean club pool anytime?

I got an email back today from the Marriott Stellaris with regard to my December booking. My concern was regarding the rumors that the pool would be closed in December. The response I got back was that the pool remodel has been postponed until 2008 and would remain open as usual in December. As well, it is expected that all construction on the rooms will be completed by early December. I hope that helps!

That Is Correct. We Just Got Back From Two Weeks At The Ocean Club And Surf Club. The Resort Pool Will Not Be Redone At This Time. The Renovations Are Going Along Smoothly. They're Doing One Tower At A Time And They Completely Gutted The Tower. It Will Look Superb When Finished. Also La Vista Is Still Open. We Had Breakfast There One Morning And Did Several Of The Theme Buffets This Year.
