Marriott Ocean Club Beach

Will be returning to Aruba (Ocean Club)5/21 and am wondering what the condition of the beach is. I've been reading that there's a big drop off and a lot of seaweed, bad smells, etc. Can anyone tell me if this is still the case? We stayed at the Ocean Club in September, 2005, and the ocean condition was pretty bad. Please tell me it has improved. Thanks!!

Re: Marriott Ocean Club Beach

Just returned May 1 and stayed at the Marriott Hotel next door and the beach was great. We didn't see much seaweed at all and there was no odor. In front of the hotel the drop off was minor to last June when we were there. Hope you have a great trip.

Re: Marriott Ocean Club Beach

We were there in October and it was BAD.I remember the first time we were there about seven years ago ,and it was so clear that you were able to see your feet standing in water. We have been going every year and the last two years have been the same.I think it is because of all the boats going in and out turning the bottom of the ocean up.They MUST do something QUICK because people including myself are not going to spend all kinds of money to stay by the pool all day.Im a diver and you cant believe how clear the water is when you are out a mile or so.Please let me know how it is when you get back,im going back in October.....ENJOY....

The ocean is as pristine and azure blue as it has ever been.

Say hi to Festus, the Guest Relations Manager, he's really helpful and always smiling.

Re: Marriott Ocean Club Beach

did smell bad on occasion ...sand is very slimey and it is not clear at all! We could not see our feet! It sure was nice to float around though! We enjoyed Baby Beach for clearer water
