I have reserved Marriott (hotel, not ocean or surf clubs) for July 19th, 10 days. Now I am concerned. I was told that the noise from construction there is very bad. Can someone comment, who has been there recently?
Been to the island 8 times, never a bad trip, but constant construction noise would bother me.

We've stayed at the Marriott the last 2 times we have been there. Last year we were on the side of the construction ( I think they were doing something to the roof below our rooms) and we could hear it. However it was down a little ways, not directly below us. AND it was on the parking lot side of the hotel. So,unless they're doing something on the "ocean side" of the hotel that I don't know about, I think your best bet would be to request a room with a pool view. Hope this helps. Have a great time! We're going back in a couple of weeks to take the whole family and we can't wait! Staying at the Marriott again!

We stayed at the Ocean Club in early May (located right next door to the Surf Club).
The only time we noticed construction noise was when we walked out toward the front of the hotel. Never bothered us......they work during the day.

Hi, we were there in March, noise level was fine. We weren't at all disturbed!

I haven't heard about the noise there, but I'm scheduled with my husband and son to leave on the same day. I hope you have a nice time. There is St. John's festival downtown sometime that week (I think the 24th), it sounds like fun.

Just got back today from Aruba..we stayed at the Surf club. The construction noise didn't bother us at all. If you staying at the hotel, you are far enough away that it wouldn't bother you.
