Hi everyone, i would love some help...I went to aruba this past September with my parents we stayed at La Cabana, and to say we were NOT pleased is not enough. We have decided to try the high rise area for our next trip. We have looked online at several different hotels and it looks like the Marriott Stellaris or the Wyndham would be the best for us. I would love some input from people who have stayed at both and can give us some feedback as to good and bad points of each. I would appreciate any help you can give us.

Marriott Stellaris is the place to stay by far. It is immaculate and beach is beautiful. Also if you stay there that end of the beach is not as windy as where the Wyndham is. The beach there is so wide that it looks like it belongs at the New Jersey Shore. It is not islandy looking - no palm trees or any pretty landscape. Very, very windy down that way also. Hotel not as upscale as Marriott. Look into Radisson and Hyatt also - I've stayed there as well.

I'm just curious...what did you not like about La Cabana?
My wife and I were down there 1 1/2 weeks ago and thought it was great (minus the occasional stink from the treatment plant nearby when the wind died down).
I definitely got a different impression on it, but maybe I missed something.

WE stayed at the Wyndham the end of September and had a great time. We heard comments about the beach being extra windy but we didn't think that it was. Every once in a while a wind gust may past through. If nothing else it was very refreshing. I've never stayed at the Marriott so I can't comment on their hotel but all I know is that it is at the furthest end of the beach. Meaning you'll have to walk or drive to get most anywhere. Maybe chech out the Radisson or Hyatt. They are more centrally located.

I stayed at both hotels. You cannot make a wrong decision either way. The Wyndham is in a better location as far as walking to restaurants and shops. The Marriott was a bit isolated. There was too much shade at the Marriott pool. We had to relocate several times as the day progressed. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are great, and the food is excellent at both hotel. I, personally, will stay at the Wyndham next time I go back.

any one have any information on the Renissance Aruba resort and casino.

The Wyndham is beautiful. It's immaculate,the rooms are beautiful,the people are very helpful.You'll love it!By the way, it's windy every where on the beach!

We have stayed at the Wyndam, Hyatt, Marriott and Radisson and liked them all for different reasons. However, we will be staying at the Radisson from now on. For my wife and I it has exactly what we need. I think it is located on the best part of Palm Beach. Not too windy and not a lot of sea shells on the beach either. Water sports guys are not agressive like they were by other hotels.

save a buck and do the wyndham.... not as snobby... nice beach, better access area

I stayed at La Cabana in May and it was fine worth the price i paid. I returned in September with my family and it was horrible. The maid service was non existant!!! She took used towels out and put new ones in and made up the bed. The floors were not washed and or vacumed. And the staff was very rude. Not at all my experience in May. I just read another post from Kim from Boston who said her bedroom dresser was crawling with bugs. I was recently told that the villa's in the back have gone bankrupt. This hotel is in desperate need of some cash. People i know have raved about this hotel in the past and so my family and i tried it we were very disappointed. We love Aruba and cannot wait to try something else.
