Marriott Surf Club rooms

Regarding rooms, does anyone know which is the 'better or real' ocean view at the Surf Club?

We are going next week and am booked in an ocean view...that faces the Marriott Ocean Club, as opposed to the pool.

Should I ask for a change? They said we are in the middle, so away from construction and have an ocean view, but facing the other resort. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Amy

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

We own at the surf club and facing the water is much nicer than facing the Ocean club. Unless you are at the front of your floor (closest to the ocean) the ocean club will block your view. We are going in Oct. can't wait - enjoy your trip............

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

we just got back back from the surf club and had an ocean view room, over the side door which faced the ocean club. The construction was not really noticable and the view from the balcony was very nice, there was a constant breeze. I believe its a better view than on the other side where you will be overlooking the construction on the new pool.

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

Amy, I've stayed on both sides at the Surf Club. Both are beautiful. I preferred the view on the Ocean Club side. This way you don't hear all the little kids and "night time" swimmers at the pool. You get the best sun rises and sunsets on this side as well. You'll love it!

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

We just returned from a great stay at the Surf Club. We were on the pool side. Construction did not bother us at all. We were high enough that pool noise did not bother us. There were some loud bingo games and a little bit of loud music by the pool, but it was in the middle of the day...no problem. I would say either side is fine.

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

Amy,
Stayed at the Surf Club in May. All the rooms at the Surf Club are Ocean views! Do not be misled however as this hotel does not sit horizontal with the beach. You will need to be on your balcony to really see the ocean. When you look straight out your room you will see the building for the Ocean Club. You will love the view from the deck but you really do not have much of a view from inside the room looking out. All the rooms are situated at an angle to give everyone a taste of the beautiful water from the balcony.

Re: Marriott Surf Club rooms

If you are on the pool side, you also get to view the "night lights" of Aruba. It was beautiful and you can even see the lights of any cruise ship docked. The only real noisy night is Sunday from the club between the Holiday Inn and the Surf Club. The construction on the pool starts early but did not trouble us. We stayed on floor 14, halfway back from the ocean. We had a nice view of the water, boats and also the "night lights" as I stated.
