    Great news.
Apparently, we are more worry then local people.
All our local friends are so calm and enjoying life on the "blessed' island.

We are here now. Not in the hotel areas but near Mangle Halto. We've had some rain and thunder. The wind was completely gone for a while which was strange. It has lightened back up for the Moment. Matthew..depression thru hurricane-img_1988.jpg

    thanks for the photo dipeblnd

oftentimes the wonderful tradewinds of aruba are sucked away when there is a storm L pressure area in the caribbean sea to the north, north east or northwest of aruba.

We are definitely more worried than the locals. All the ones I know are going about their business as usual. They say the big concern will be flooding in the low elevation areas.

    i agree

aruba is promoted as being almost outside the hurricane belt....they do know their island!

the few arubans that i have spoken with are calm and going about their daily activities.
the ex pats that i have spoken with are not quite as calm, but certainly far from freaked out.

I'm getting a few photos from friends in Curacao. A lot of flooding already (scary to drive through) and some dark ominous skies.
