Thread: May have to cancel my trip....need some advice!

    Call the insurance carrier and make absolutely sure of any deadlines or requirements. If they require a 2 week notice you may be forced to cancel. Also check with Jet Blue to see what their notification timeline is. No need to use the insurance if Jet Blue will cover it later but you need more information from both to make a decision. Aruba will be there when he is healthy.

    Wishing your husband a speedy recovery! If this is his 3rd bout this year, I'd be careful. Better to cancel a trip if necessary than to take chances. Flying, especially in the winter, spreads a lot of germs, so definitely have him wear a mask if you do go so he doesn't catch something further on the plane. I caught the flu on the way down to St. Maarten 2 years ago, got sick 5 days into the trip, and was miserable. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome, one way or another.

    I just talked to Jet Blue getaway. The first girl said, oh if it is just the flight, they would waive the cancellation and fee and put it in a credit and I would have a year to use it. The Jet Blue Getaway person, said the Getaways do not waive the fee and it is $135 per person if I do it before 11/28.....after that I would be charged $135 person and $290 towards the room. First time I got a unfriendly person at Jet Blue! He told me to call the Insurance company or Jet Blue Credit card. I don't understand that they could waive it if I just booked the flight but no for the Getaway. Oh well, it's been another long day and I just can't take it tonight so I will call the credit card co tomorrow and the Ins. Co. to be cont.....

    Good luck with all that crap.... and we all know it took 20 minutes to navigate the voice prompts to get to a live person......

    Speak to a supervisor. If that don't work email/call the CEO of the airline
    We got tickets for 2 kids.. canceled the flight; cause they moved back home to their mother;
    All we wanted was the credit applied for us to fly. SW offer them a credit to fly. They were never going to fly again.
    After speaking to several people with no results I emailed the CEO and he told me he couldn't give me the credit however he did
    offer to credit my credit card.

    Thanks Brady bear. I did end up finding the energy and called the Insurance co and they told me that I have up to the day of departure and will get most of my money refunded (my fault for not taking out more) I used a lot of my Jet Blue points towards this trip so I wish I could get them back. Tomorrow I will call Barclay Jet Blue Credit card and see what they have to say,and yes CP, it takes all I have just to get to the correct person and I am in no mood tonight to get another guy with a don't bother me the sale is already done attitude! LOL After all this just maybe I won't need it! Trying to stay positive ; )
