Re: Minivan rental
Hi Mary,
THIS IS STRICTLY MY OPINION
I urge you to look at a company that will give you recourse at the end of the rental. The more reputable the company the more recourse you have and especially if they are affiliated world wide. Why do I say this?
We see or hear discussions regarding minor dents or lack of windshield wipers, how much gas was and is in the car etc. especially when the customer has a limited amount of time to discuss the issue and the rental company has all day. In most cases, the charges go to the users credit card. In the event you contest it, it drags on and on and on. Normally these types of issues take place with the companies that gave you the great deal.
When you rent with a major company and there is an issue. You have the recourse to e-mail their headquarters and resolve it at that level.
There are some exceptions to this. There is a gentleman, I believe he is either Dutch or Belgian that has a rental company (Sorry I sdon't remember the name) He wears a white polo and blue shorts as his company unifor and this particualr guy does not have an airport office. He does a great job and clients are very faithfull to him. Perhaps the board knows him or has more information for you on him.
Just watch out for the GOOD DEAL.
Charles
