Do you have an unlocked phone? You can get a SIM card from Setar or Digicel and tether to that.

If you need Wi-Fi for a laptop or I-pad you cannot get Wi-Fi service from Digicel. I went to Digicel first to find out before I got MIO. For WI-FI for your phone, if you have an I-phone 3 or later it can be unlocked. I don't know about other smartphones. Why don't you want to get MIO?

We just returned from staying at La Cabana for 4 weeks. La Cabana has wifi although it is a bit spotty and is limited to 2 devices. On our last trip we had an internet plan with wifi Aruba (Setar?) which was well priced but also was limited to only one device at a time. Obviously I could have paid for another account. This time we went with MIO. The idea that you could use up to 6 devices was appealing, as we were traveling with 2 kindles, 2 laptops and 2 smart phones. However you are paying by the amount of GB you use. With wifi Aruba we paid a set amount for the month we were there (I think it was $70). With the MIO you have to be careful especially with your smart phones. Leaving a smart phone on next to the MIO can use up available GB. I guess if we were staying there only a week we would have had no problems but if we use the MIO next time we will have to purchase a larger GB package.
    Next Aruba trip in
