Watching the Miss Universe Contest a few days ago - began wondering what became of
Maureen Vieira Miss Aruba of 1974

She was only the 2nd Black woman to make the finalists in the Pageant's history up to that time - so, that is why she is remembered after all these years

Also, how is Taryn Mansell doing

Really surprised this current Miss Aruba did not make the semi-finalists

It was probably the photos that gave us that impression as well as the way she appeared on Television.

Was wondering why she NEVER got ANY recognition like Anne Marie Braahfeid - '68)(Curacao) and Gerthie David (Haiti - '75)

Now ironically, that makes them the only ones to ever make it into the finalist before the winner from Trinidad in '77
