Missing Girl

Is there any news about the missing Alabama girl on her senior trip who was last seen leaving Carlos and Charlie's on Monday morning? This is such a sad story.

Re: Missing Girl

Information from other BB's (tripadvisors.com visitaruba.com) said that her family has arrived in Aruba and put out a plea for their daughter Natalee's (age 18)safe return on t.v. As of today her story has been published in all of the local Arubian papers. Natalee left Carlo's & Charlies Monday morning at 1:00 with a man who misled her to believe he was a Dutch tourist. This man has been questioned by police and is known as a local drug dealer. The postings said he did not cooperate in the interrigation. The FBI is also involved in the case. They are hoping the girl is still in Aruba and has not been taken to Venezuela.
There was another kidnapping of two "local" sisters on May 14, 2005. The police did find them before they were sent to Venezuela and this is giving some hope that Natalie will also be found.

Re: Missing Girl

This is so Sad and Scary! First of all my heart goes out to the family may she be found in good health.
This is the first Time I hear something like this happening in Aruba, I hope that this does not become a trend! This past April when in Aruba I noticed a huge presence of Police and Visibility Police at all times of day and night and all over, from streets to beaches to water and air, this made me feel safe. Too bad that things like this happen, but I guess that with more people coming to the Island the chances become greater of something like this happening. I know that the Aruban Goverment will do the best it can to stop such activity. Once again may this young girl be found safe and sound.

Re: Missing Girl

There are issues in this case that can go beyond the obvious in their implications.

It will take time for all the information regarding this lovely child to come out. Some of it will be hard to handle and some of it will be expected. With regards to the family of this missing child, my prayers are with you.

I was with them on the first night they arrived to ARuba (looking for their daughter) from midnight until 5:30 AM and have kept in touch. In my opinion, this issue has far reaching implications for all those involved.

I wish all of us strength

Re: Missing Girl

Hi Vicki:
To me you are a little confused with the kidnapping of the two "local" sisters that were found by the police. If you have the means available to go back to that news item, you will see that the two "local" sisters disappeared in IRAK and not in Aruba. Probably the place in Irak sounded or read like Aruba.
We are of course very concerned about the disappearance of Natalee and out thoughts are with the family. One positive poinbt is that she was spotted here in the company of others when visiting a restaurant. Apparently she looked very tired as she have not slept for a long time. Anyway, we are sure that the local authorities are doing their utmost to find Natalee. At least we know that she is alive.

Re: Missing Girl

Hi Rory,
I read about about the "two sisters" on another link when the news first broke and a fellow poster was looking for information on Natalee. I looked up the link which said was submitted by Aruba news. The title is ARUBA POLICE RESCUE KIDNAPPED SISTERS. There was also a map with the island of Aruba highlighted. After I read your post I went back to Aruba News and the story is still there. Here is the link

http://www.redtailcanyon.com/items/1032882.aspx

I will email you what I found.

Re: Missing Girl

Charles, you seem to imply that there is more to this story then the public has been made aware. Whatever the reason for this girls disappearance, I pray that she is safe and will reappear soon for her family's sake! This is a parent's worst nightmare!!
