Keep most in Room Safe

>>> "i bring in cash to aruba...."
--- How many days are you staying and are you going AI? You will need US$$ for casinos, tips, cab fares, bus fares, small items, ..... Master Charge and Visa Charge accepted at most shops, restaurants, tours, ....... American Express Travel Checks can be cashed at most resort front desk for guests and casinos will cash them for players. So if you plan to bring all of the above items will say bring $50 times number of days in US$$ and use Travel Checks and Charge Cards as needed. But there is Petty Crime in Aruba so keep most of that stuff locked in your room safe. Do not lock that stuff in your car, or keep in your beach beach, ...... Most resorts let you charge food/drinks to your room. Do that.

Re: money

There are ATMs all over the place. You will have no more problem accessing money there than in the US. And the prices are relatively the same, perhaps the restaurants just a little higher - it is a tourist haven.

Re: money

Several years ago we were planning a trip to Europe and I asked our local travel agent a similar question. She responded with the following:

#1 Double check your destination to see what kinds of credit cards they take.
#2 Make sure you have one of those cards.
#3 Do a simple multiple of the nights vs the room rates and add that to meals and transport, then make sure that your card will hold that amount + 15% for emergencies
#4 Take a surplus amount of cash for incidentals. This is best done in travellers checks which you should entrust to the front desk safe (if they have one).

Re: money

Tom and charles are on the money again. How long you are staying, how much you like the casinos, how much you drink and eat, and how much jewelry or presents you plan to buy will detirmine what you want to bring.
