More crime in Aruba
We need to stay abreast of the crime in Aruba. I read on another Aruba board that there was a grocery store hold up last week and the owners were shot when they did not react quick enough. Crime is certainly on the rise in Aruba. Is the "police" force there going to be able to stop this?

If you read the same post I did, it said 2 suspects were arrested. It also happened at 10 P.M. probably after the store was closed.
Andrea, the post is on Sheri's board. She has created a section on news like this. I don't know how to post a link, or I would have.
Agree, Bad apples everywhere. Crime iin Aruba still far, far less than in the US. Just a wake up call to keep your eyes open and stay alert. Don't leave things visable in cars and lock doors and windows. No different than in th US.
While I appreciate and agree with the fact we all need to be cautious anywhere, Aruba covers approximately 70 square miles. Picture a 70 square mile radius around the area you live in now. Where are you safer? I know the answer is Aruba for us!
I lived and have seen many countries in my life but Aruba is the safest i ever seen. I live here 8 years now and believe me it's safe on Aruba.
Don't forget, poverty is everywhere so is crime.
