More trouble in Aruba!!!

I don't have the links. but if you can get to yesterdays Aruban newspapers, you will find the story of an Aruban throwing a hand grenade through the window in to his mothers house. Now more important, where are they getting hand grenades???

Thumbs down

WOW, sometimes this is just like the ENQUIRER
............i am sure that hand grenades can be obtained at the "hand grenade store".
........ sadly, just like here in the usa, most anything can be bought! online makes it easy

in yesterday's amigoe.com there was NO mention (in the ENGLISH version) of a grenade event.

as a p.s. my chiropractor bought a "real live spider monkey" online last year.
for a price, the monkey was purchased and shipped.
arrived alive and well

i think that "sensationalizing" this event is troublesome.

I am going to close this thread til we get a link that confirms the envent

i got a reply (PM) from an incredibly reliable source (2 actually) that yes indeed a grenade was tossed at the outside retaining wall of a home on the island of aruba.

no one was injured

the thrower of the grenade was a person of questionable mental stability

the person has been admitted to a psychiatric facility

thank you for letting this thread have an ending instead of my having to lock it.

Aruba is NOT in trouble

Very reluctantly I'm replying to this post and I must say the title is very suggestive and meaningless.

Even though that event that occurred is troubling, I don't feel like building a bunker and buying guns to protect myself here on the island.

Aruba is NOT in trouble, that guy, who was arrested, who threw the grenade is in trouble. Furthermore, I don't recall when this kind of event happened previously on this island.

Although this is a troubling event in aruba, it is an isolated event.

Stuff happens everywhere and we'd be foolish to think that Aruba is never going to be exposed to things that are upsetting.
Aruba is immune to nothing....................BUT and I really exaggerate the BUT.
Aruba's crime per capita is very very low.

I would love someone to be able to put some numbers up.
petty thievery-breaking and entering-drunk driving-assault-homicide let's see some numbers.
Then i would like to find a city of comparable size here in the USA or another caribbean country and compare the numbers.
My strong suspicion is that Aruba's numbers will be the clear winner. By winner I mean LOW numbers.

I received a private message from a person this afternoon!!!
The sender referred to me as a dictator and demanded an apology for being a bad moderator.

I have nothing to apologize for.

I will allow this thread to remain open, but maybe someone in the office will close it.

I ask extreme caution in posting.
Some folks, very few i hope...........seem to thrive on passing along bad news, or scary news or questionable events.

Please, No more of this "chicken little the sky is falling stuff"
