it is a crap shoot re: mosquitos.
sometimes there are...sometimes not.
depending on weather, rain amount, standing waters....all dictate mosquito population.

We only had problems with bugs 1 trip out of 15. If you want to be on the safe side, bring a small travel size can of Off!

another great mosquito repellent (thank you sherry at visitarubabb ;-) ) is fabric softener sheets.
take a piece of fabric softener...........rub it wherever bare skin is exposed.

it works!

We go in March and have never had a problem. In the early morning before the sun comes up I've noticed small black bugs flying around but they never seem to bite. They're only a nuisance when they fly past your face. Once the sun it up, they disappear.

Brainless69 - If you are leaving in a week, you might want to bring some OFF with you. Mosquitos are rarely a problem but when there is standing water on the Island, it can become annoying and with the recent rains from Hurricane Dean, there may be some standing water which allows the mosquitos to mutiply. Just bring some spray or try the recommended fabric softener sheets (never tried it but sounds good) and you should be fine. Enjoy your vacation....Cheryl

I never had a problem with mosquitos but my wife and I both had bug bites. She had a lot on her leg and I had a couple on my shoulder. I really had no idea what they were but when we got back I read there are chiggers in aruba. Now we did a lot of hicking, I don't think we picked them up on the beach. If your concerned but don't want the smell of bug spray you could try Avon "skin so soft".
