Natural Pool Nightmare

I know there is a big fascination with driving to the natural pool but it's dangerous and could end up costing you a lot of money.
As many people know the only way to reach the natural pool is by renting a jeep but what a lot of people may not know is that you are responsible if any happens to the vehicle including flat tires.
The roads are very rocky and if you don't have a quality jeep there is a good chance that you could get a flat tire like I did.

That being said, I'd like to send a special thanks to the construction worker from Newark, New Jersey that was there to attend a wedding that bailed me out after I got a flat tire.
He was able to back my jeep down a huge hill and they helped me change the flat tire. Without him I would have been dead meat. Afterwards he left and I never got his name.
If anyone knows of this person or who he is I'd like to do something for him but he just left and went on his way. I know its one in a million shot but hopefully someone knows who he is.

Influencer,

Man it is so great to hear from you agian! While fixing your tire I realized that the beans that I had ate earlier that day were not settling well with me. I knew that if I did not finsh your tire you would not be able to get to the pool so I pushed through for you. But as soon as I finished I had to jet right out to the bathroom quickly without leaving my Name for you. I also forgot to tell you that not only am I a construction worker but I also work for Tripple A. I have been looking for you as well to send you a bill for my service. You should be gettin the bill in 7 to 10 days. Thanks so much for the Job that day and for helping to pay for my aruba Trip. Look forward to timely payment...

There is a van that takes you to the natural pool, you do not have to drive. Inquire about this van. Picks you up and brings you back.

Re: Natural Pool Nightmare

What a wonderful end to this story. I think this fellow was your guardian angel My husband and I rented a jeep and attempted to go by jeep to the natural pool, but we turned back after realizing how dangerous it was. Since I was bound and determined to go there, at the suggestion of one of my students, we opted to go on a horseback riding tour there. The horses do the trip twice a day, so I put my trust in Napoleon and Lucretia!! Galloping in the sand was a rush as well! If you like horses this is the way to go. ATV tours are also available. Was the the natural pool a site to behold. I don't think so. Thanks for warning people of the dangers of going by 4X4 vehicles. Even one jeep tour I heard of got a flat out there and had to wait 2 hours without shade or water for someone to come with a spare tire!!!

Re: Natural Pool Nightmare

I just got back from Aruba yesterday. First let me thank Aruba for a wonderful vacation. The people were great! It was my first time being there, and I hope to take many more trips there.

The natural pool is the biggest tourist attraction in Aruba, and I wouldn't tell anyone to miss if for the world. It can be difficult to find if you don't know the roads in Aruba. Renting a jeep is not the only way of getting there. My family and I took the ATV tour which was absolutely awesome. There were 8 of us, and most of the crew didn't want to do it, but were so glad they did. They had a great time. There were lots of hilly and rocky areas that we had to pass before getting to and from the natural pool, but I felt safer in the ATVs than I would have in a jeep. Some of the hills were steep and I felt that if I fell off an ATV, I'd still have control of myself, but that wouldn't be the same in a jeep full of people. Don't worry you won't fall off! The tour guides were great! There was a couple who got a flat tire on their ATV, and it was taken care of in just minutes. The ATVs were also able to take us closer to the natural pool site. Try to do the morning tour since it isn't so warm out then....and by the time you get to the natural pool, the temp is perfect for a dip! ENJOY ARUBA!

Re: Natural Pool Nightmare

I agree. If you are going to drive to the natural pool I would not recommend a rental. We went with a tour and they sent us out with three LandRovers and one tour guide. They get other tourists to drive the vehicles. My husband decided to give the guy a break that drove us up to the pool and offered to drive back. On the way back the tire rod broke and both the front wheels turned inward. We just squashed into the remaining two LandRovers and continued the tour. There is no way I would go out there in a rental.

Re: Natural Pool Nightmare

We just returned Tuesday night and went to the Natural Pool on Sunday. Let's just say that I will NOT recommend driving there with a rental to my clients. We did it and had no problems to speak of however I can see how very easily something could happen. The road there is HORRIBLE (if you can even find it to begin with). Once there, you dread having to find your way back! We had a Jimny to drive and it did get us there okay but some of the rocks are so sharp on the "roads" that I can't believe we didn't have a flat. The Natural Pool itself is pretty however I don't think it was worth the trouble of driving it. I went there because of my job....I like to experience things myself so I can make accurate recommendations to my clients. The rocks you have to walk on to get into the pool can be very dangerous. Tread carefully. I'll go back to Aruba in a heartbeat but as for the NP......been there, done that.....don't need to see it again.
