As for "pushing buttons", is that a phone joke?

U can use text message for 50cents or
so. Its a much cheaper way to contact someone from the states. All u need is to have international roaming on

    Cell Phone

Bring down an unlocked Quad-band or tri-band cell phone and buy a Sim card at the airport for $20(84 Minutes local), they will install Sim Card. I have an old motorola I'm bringing down in Sept. Sometimes your carrier may sell your phone locked so you can only use it on their network, but they can be unlocked. The way to test it is to insert another Sim card from another carrier into your phone, if it works the phone is locked, if not you have to unlock it.

Unfortunately, they are a bit slow in responding. The phone will be there for you when get there.

I fiind it disturbing that fastphones does NOT get back to folks in a timely manner.
I emailed Charles Croes, the owner, and relayed again the message that folks are not getting written confirmation.

I can guarantee that Charles will be upset.
He takes pride in his business and works hard to keep customers happy.

Randi and Andrea, thanks so much for your replies. I wish we would have reserved our phones earlier, because it would have been great to have been able to leave the number with our dog sitter. I did send another email today, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that we hear back tomorrow. I'm glad to know that they'll have phones for us when we get there though.

The rates are much better with Aruba Fast Phone than price I was quoted at the Marriott. For anyone who's interested, Fast Phones rate is $50/week for 84 mins talk time. Any days over seven is $5/day and less than seven is $8/day. The Marriott is $10/day + $30 for a two-hour sim card.

Also, if you need extra minutes, they cost about $15 for an additional hour. Fast phones is located just as you leave the secure area of the airport, just after you go through the doors. Turn right and their red booth is right there. I have been using them for years and they have always had my phone waiting for me.
