You'll have a wonderful time. If you want a romantic dinner go to LeDome, expensive but great.

Re: Negative comments

Craig, we just got back. Nothing to worry about. It's still a magical place, and nothing to fear.

I love Aruba. You have to remember right now all of the NUTS are out. So not much good is being said. Remember crime is all over the world. Just read your paper or watch the news. I've been to Aruba over 17 times. And I loved it everytime. Yes, Aruba has drugs. But tell me what country, state, city, or town that does not! Whats happening now in Aruba is not the fault of the people but the goverment. As for the strays. Yes they do hame them. However, when I was there in April the stray that was at my hotel ate very well every day. One lady would make her husband get food for the dog before she let him eat. We all had some fun with him. The people of Aruba are some of the best. Go and have a wonderful time.

Re: Negative comments

TO BE HONEST, I GOT SO NERVOUS BEFORE WE LEFT FOR OUR HONEYMOON TOO BECAUSE OF THIS SITE. TO EACH HIS OWN!

I LIKED IT BUT ITS NOT A PLACE I THINK I WOULD GO BACK TO ANYTIME SOON. THE BEACHES ARE CLEAN AND THE WATER IS BEAUTIFUL. DEFINITELY GO AND DO "SNUBA"!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT!! MY HUSBAND LOVED IT TOO! AS FOR THE NIGHTLIFE, WE KINDA STAYED AWAY FROM THAT AND STUCK TO THE HOTEL. WE HAD A LOT OF FUN MEETING PEOPLE AND LOUNGING BUT AFTER AWHILE, WE GOT BORED.

YOU'LL HAVE A GREAT TIME TOO, DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE (INCLUDING ME SAYS) BECAUSE YOU WILL FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN. HAVE FUN!

Re: Negative comments

Craig -

We did not see strays around the island, maybe they were there - but we did not encounter any of them.

We stayed at the Wyndham and did the Azull dinner on the beach for our last night there -- it was wonderful. Rudy was a spectacular host!

You will have a wonderful time on your honeymoon -- I am sure that Aruba will treat you well. Enjoy yourself!

Re: Negative comments

Craig there is absolutely no crime wave in Aruba. This is one of the safest places you can travel to. I have been there 3 times and absolutely love it. My 3 boys now ages 17, 15 and 13 have gone all 3 times with us and I feel very safe with them going off on their own. There has recently been one incident of Natalee Holloway but she was not snatched off the streets. She went with 3 boys she thought she knew after 3 days. Please, go to Aruba and enjoy yourselves. As for the strays....They are everywhere. I didn't see any around the hotels but in the town you may see some. I recently went to Jamaica and there are strays all over. Someone hit a large dog and it layed in the road for 3 days. I did see a few cats in the walkway of the Hyatt but like I said this goes on everywhere. I think you picked an absolutely great island to start off your married years together. Aruba is "One Happy Island" and it will always remain that way. Arubians are the kind, caring and very giving don't let what a few negative people wrote bring you down. Go have fun and make your own judgement!

Re: Negative comments

I promise - you will have a fabulous time there on your honeymoon!

My husband and I went to Aruba in 2002 - had a wonderful vacation. We went to see some friend's of ours get married, afterwards we all ate dinner on the beach, and danced the whole night. We were there for only a week and it was not long enough at all!

My husband is the world traveler, Aruba was the first place I ever went to out of the States - and we have plans to go back next year. It was/is such a beautiful place. We did an all day jeep safari one day and had a blast, went snorkeling, ATV riding, horseback riding - and other day's we just vegged on the beach. Pure bliss.

We were recently married ourselves, and contemplated going back to Aruba for our honeymoon - but we decided to go somewhere else, just for the sake of something new - well due to the hurricanes last fall - our honeymoon to Grand Caymen was cancelled Well we ended up getting everything refunded and we decided to save some money and go to Punta Cana. (quite a contrast, huh?
We had a wonderful time there as well, spent two weeks there - however - I will say - we stayed at our resort the whole time - there was plenty to do and see there, but we knew when night fell - to go venturing away wasn't an option.

In Aruba my husband and I walked on the beach almost every single night - felt safe and very secure. I am an animal lover myself, and yes it was hard to see some of these stray's - I wanted to take them home and give them love and shelter - My husband would try to remind me of the natural beauty that surrounded us everyday when I started to complain about the animals.

Your soon to be wife will enjoy Aruba despite the animals - if I did, I know she will too.

It is difficult to see how much attack Aruba is getting - it all is so very unfortunate.
I hope things will start coming together soon, the family and Ms. Holloway deserve some peace.

As for you Craig - congrats on the upcoming wedding (it's such a fun day!) and ENJOY every moment on your honeymoon.

Catherine

Re: Negative comments

Hi,We go to Aruba every year, just booked again at the Wyndham for November. It is a beautiful Island and the people there are really down to earth, very nice. The problem there right now is the missing teen it make people upset and angry,I understand that I'm upset to but going to Aruba for almost 15 years straight I know this is something tragic but dosen't happen all the time.Things happen every place. As for Aruba itself you will have a great time there. The food is great just about anyplace you go the Island is American friendly. The Casino's are smaller so you don't get the overwelmed feeling of Vegas. The town is beautiful and small enough to take a day to move around it.Stop reading and start packing.
