Have a great honeymoon! The only place I saw stray dogs was when we did a jeep tour through the cunucu (countryside). As for drugs and other crime, it is everywhere in this world. You just need to keep your wits about you like you would at home. I have two young girls and I feel very safe when we go to Aruba. Have a wonderful time and don't worry. The only thing you need to worry about is putting on enough sunscreen and where to eat dinner every night.

My family and I have been going to Aruba for 19 years. This coming January will celebrate 20 years with our 2 weeks timeshare. We love every minute of our vacation and look forware to going every year and to seeing our regular friends. I have been lucky enough to have visited many of the vacation spots around the world including Hawaii, The Riviera Cancun, Acapulco, St. Thomas, St. John, Barbados. San Juan, The Gold Coast of Australia, Sun City So Africa Etc. Etc. but wouldn't trade Aruba for anything. I think I have seen 2-3 strays in the 19 years and had to go out in the boondocks to see them. The Restaurants are great, the night life is fair except for the Casinos if you like to gamble and the beaches and weather and water sports are top notch.

If you're worried about the strays, don't do the Jeep tour. But still go -- I had doubts, too (because of the Natalee thing), but am glad I went. We didn't see that many strays (except on the Jeep tour), and the ones we did see, while mangy, did not seem underfed.

Don't let them get you down. We have been visiting Aruba for 25 yrs. and it is considered one of the safest islands. It is a beautiful place with the friendly locals. The negative comments are being posted by people to show their support for the family of missing Nathalee Holloway. People sometimes love to fuel the fire.

No need to worry about strays. Things have been exaggerated. Aruba has many foundations that look after the flora and fauna. Please visit www.arubaanimals.org and also www.arubandonkey.org (too name a few organizations) you'll see how much is being done to protect animals.
Maybe your wife-to-be would like to adopt a donkey. The company I work for, has recently adopted one.
I don't know what you mean about 'crime wave'. The case of missing Ms. Holloway is an isolated case. Of course we are all upset about this.

Aruba is and always will be a safe place.

I i was born in aruba but now living in Europe. I can't wait till the day I move back.

I have been all around the world From the west coast of tho US to Thailand and I havent find a nice and peacefull place like my home island yet.
