You have to let children learn on their own. This is a hard lesson for Natalee if in fact she is dead which is terrible. I pray she is alive and pulled some stupid stunt like the runaway bride or something it's better than thinking she may be dead.

Kids will be kids and that is why if my son wants to party I will let him because we all did it but if we he wants to go away on some graduation trip I don't know what I would do, that's a good question. I sometimes think having a son is easier than having a daughter because women tend to be victims more than men. If I have a daughter I think it will make me get more grays...

Ann, you're mom only loves you that is why she is freaked out. You should appreciate it. Maybe you are too young to appreciate it now but I'm very glad my curfew was 7PM when I was growing up.

Marie....just say no. Your kids may hate you today for it, but they'll get over it and thank you later.

My brother sister and I were not allowed on group trips like this and we caught heck when we were 21 and wanted to vacation with just a few friends. Mom put up a fight (& got some grays) and when she hears about news like this she's glad she did. We were well off and she wanted to spoil us, but she had limits when it came to stuff like this.

Some people come out like "how could I say no" or "it's their graduation party" or "we all did it at one time or another". Well the world is a scarier place now than it was 50 years ago, or even 20 years ago. Times change and as a parent you have to change with them.
