Question New Casino

Does anyone know anything about the new casino being restored behind Lacabana. Long ago we heard it was supposed to open in January, but haven't heard anyone mention it. Thanks

When I was at Key Largo Casino in Sept. I was told it would open in 11 months - which would be this Aug. But from what I heard from people that have just come back, the Casino is still an empty shell with not much work going on.

Yes, as of January 3, it was a gutted shell (I mean you could see right through the place front to back), nothing more.

work has slowed on the casino

the word is out that the license for a casion of the proposed size they want to make it has been either denied or held up in red tape.
reason being: the casino's proposed sq footage is too large. the aruban resort has 261 units and the casino license application says the aruban has 300 units. so there is a problem right there.

my source of information comes from a reputable person that is active with the resort and its expansion.

when i get more information i will share.

New Casino

Thanks everyone. We are going back in May with friends who like to gamble. I was hoping it was going to be open. Oh well. Things go slowly in Aruba, which is perfectly fine with me. Our 11th trip for 2 weeks at Lacabana, and I love the slow pace
