This will be my first time on the island for the new year. Any suggestions of what to do to celebratte? What have you done in he past and what do you enjoy?
we were there in 2005 for new years its wonderful fireworks for at least 3 nights, at noon on new years eve the stores close down and the party begins, new years is like our july 4 have fun! We didnt go out we were with our kids 12 and 15 and we stayed at the resort and enjoyed the fireworks!
New Years on Aruba is definately something to experience and to enjoy. I strongly recommend that you do some planning ahead of time. For exapmple:
Make sure to see if your resort will have a viewing room or area for the midnight fireworks all over the island.
Have your travel agent or hotel desk advise you on major fireworks displays.
Check to see what dress code will be at the place you choose to go. This is one of theose rare occasions where there might be a dress code to follow.
Bring ear-plugs
Make sure to check out when and where the merchants and large companies will be shooting fireworks.
If bringing kids, make sure they have some sort of eye prottection when viewing firecrackers. They tend to shoot off small pieces of paper etc.
CAMERAS CAMERAS AND MORE CAMERAS!!!
As you get closer to travel date - ask again

Many people go to the Water Tower. This location has one of the best views of all the hotels. On New Years eve the hotels have fire works. Get there early.
You are one lucky person if you are there for New Years! Parties on the beach -in the hotels--you pick -free parties to elaborate-what ever your preference! The arubians all celebrate and fireworks throughout the island-its unbelievable -everyone happy and having a great time! Enjoy!
Most of the hotels will have their own activities for the guest untill 3.00 am after that you can continue down town at the hot spots with lots of dancing
