The Occidental Grand Aruba-building not new but is reopening in April after being closed for a year to do 25 million in remodeling. It might as well be new. Everything has been redone. 5 star resort

Re: Newest highrise on Palm Beach?

I have not been to Aruba for sometime and am just looking to stay at the newest high rise on Palm Beach. I don't want to get involved with a time-share, just want to make reservations at the newest hotel. Would that be the Mariott?

Thank you all for offering answers.

The Mariott is the newest but the Radisson is also pretty new. And they are both beautiful.

Re: Newest highrise on Palm Beach?

You can rent directly from mARRIOTT OR PRIVATE OWNERS ON THIS BOARD! yOU GET SO MUCH MORE RENTING A TIMESHARE VERSUS JUST A TINY ROOM.

Check out marriott.com and go to aruba marriotts to see interiors and beaches. Awesome......
Private rentals on this board under accomodations is the way to go if you do not own a timeshare. It will actually be cheaper to get a TS than a room!!!
Good luck and enjoy.
We own at the Marriott OC, but we do not rent our weeks, we go every year and LOVE it!

Re: Newest highrise on Palm Beach?

Thank you all so much for your advice. Maybe I will reconsider the timeshare as opposed to just reserving a room after reading what you all have written.

One more question, if I may. What is the Aruba surf club that John Valerinos mentions above and where is it located?

Re: Newest highrise on Palm Beach?

The Aruba Surf Club is Marriott's Newest Building. It is all Vacation Ownership (TS) but you should be able to rent one from someone. It isn't completely finished yet but it is Awesome! It is right beside Marriott's Ocean Club. I'm telling you if you stay at either Ocean or Surf Club you will not be dissappointed. We own 2 rooms at the Ocean and 1 at the Surf. I would offer a rental to you but we use our's every year.
