    Night Sky

Has anyone got any night photos taken of the stars? It sounds silly but in the UK where I live, you NEVER ever see the milky-way.

When I was in Cape Verde ago two years while we were on a turtle night tour we saw such a pretty sky as there was no pollution or clouds to get in the way, it really was amazing and I read somewhere that star gazing is quite good in Aruba as well?

So, has anyone got any photos?

    Thanks

    Alex

No photos, but easy enough to do or see on a night with few clouds.... head over to the east side of the island as close to Arikok National Park, if not in the park. Think anywhere from Boca Grandi on northward ...

Some of CNN's 22 best "spots for spectacular starry skies" is right there in the UK:
Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve, Ireland
    Exmoor National Park, UK
    Northumberland Dark Sky Park, UK
    Galloway Forest Park, UK

I don't remember looking up in Aruba at night, I will on my next visit though. Thanks

Really have to be away from all the lights and glow from those lights and then it's spectacular.

I live in Essex, reasonably close to London, so I see a couple of stars and that's it.

My kids were amazed by the number of stars they could see from Eagle beach at night.

we have sat on the lounges at lacabana's pool deck and have star gazed.
on a clear night it is brilliantly lit with stars.

Aruba's night skies are amazing when the sky is clear. A couple of years ago I could not get over the amount of sparkling stars, just adds to the moment and locked into my memories, another favorite thing to cherish.

last year we went onto the beach with some towels, plopped down, beer in hand and just watched the stars......so beautiful, the beach was deserted, so quiet and so you could concentrate on just the sky !!!!
Have to do that again this year.......even off of our balcony the sky is gorgeous there.....
We live in Pennsylvania and have beautiful star filled skies, especially on cloudless nights in the summer....stars above you and lightening bugs around you ......breathtaking !!!! Cant wait for summer.....if it ever gets here !!!!
agager84...come to PA in the summer, we can drink wine and stare at the stars !!!!
