Can anyone tell me what is happening with the remodelling at the Occidental (Allegro). I understood that it was not re-opening until the New Year, but a travel agent is offering rooms for December.
Had fab time there before, so have been waiting for it to re-open, can anyone let me know

I was curious as well. They were scheduled to open Dec. originally but I've read some posts here from people who have been to Aruba recently and speculate there is no way by the looks of the construction. We are AVC members and are looking forward to visiting next yr. sometime. Can't wait to see the improvements. Anyone have pics to share of renovations?

I was there only 2 weeks ago and I'll be honest with you, right now they have a tentative opening date of January 15th, but to me it doesn't seem like they are going to make it for that date. I went past the place because that is the first hotel that we stayed in when we went to Aruba the first time. It totally broke my heart to see it in the condtion it's in. As the end of our trip approached it looked as if they were beginning to install some of the windows. Even if they do complete even one of the towers, the grounds are in shambles.. I just don't know..
Hopefully they'll come through as I'm sure many people have already booked their vacations to stay at the new Allegro..
