Hi, can anyone give me an update on the opening of the Occidental as it was supposed to be May 1st, last I read on this forum was that there were no doors & windows in the rooms!!! Does anyone think it will be fully operational soon, can;t wait to hear!!

From what I have heard on another bb...there are people staying in the hotel as we speak. They are still working to finish off some of the details but the hotel is open for business.
Sorry to say this but i was in Aruba for 2 weeks and from what I seen and was told its still closed. The casino is open and 1 building does look done but other has sections with no doors or windows facing the water.
My advise is contact them directly or Charles will know for sure!
I am here at the Occidental right now...it's open but not functioning at full level as of yet. Only a few restaurants open and many of the ocean front rooms are not done. They are working every day and it's coming together slowly but I doubt it will be fully operational before the end of the year. Still, they are trying hard to make guests happy and we are having a good time despite the work being done.
WAS JUST IN ARUBA 5/9 - 5/16. WAS TO STAY AT OCCIDENTAL CHANGED MY PLANS EARLY MARCH TO STAY AT WYNDHAM - GOT THERE THEY CHANGED OWNERS. NO PROBLEMS. THE OCCIDENTAL WAS PARTLY OPEN. SAW THE LOBBY & CASINO. LOOKED LIKE SOME STAYING IN THE ROOMS. NOT MANY RESTURANTS OPEN. I'M GLAD I SWITCHED. THE OCCIDENTAL LOST MY BUSINESS. HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE STAY.
