    official countdown ready

Okay, now I am ready for my next trip. I have already booked a room at LaCabana for a week in Feb Sunday-Sunday (thanks Andrea) and now I just extended my trip to arrive on Friday instead. Our first 2 nights will be at our "home" at the Ritz on points, we will then transfer on Sunday. The flights are less expensive by almost $900 for us to leave on Friday so might as well extend it and save some money.

I am also getting "old" I think. I am actually looking forward to catching the 11:15am flight down...we won't get there nearly as early but we won't get up at 2:30 am either and it is still direct.

Let the countdown officially begin. Feb 17th is when our fun in the sun begins.

So much for saving 900, for some reason the flight was not available?? Oh well, I will enjoy the extra 2 nights and not getting up prior to 3am. My trip is booked, and paid for. Well, almost paid for. The 4k worth of flights are due when I get my bill. Flights are nuts!!!!!!!

It was cheaper when I looked before but it was not showing flights available today for some reason, that said I would have passed anyways. There are actually just return flights home available. The flights even if they were available were not very user friendly. Leaving on Friday my son will miss that day no matter what, if we flew SWA on the way home, he would miss Monday as well. We really hate connecting flights traveling with a child, heck we hate connecting flights period. Flying out of Boston we have been delayed several trips recently. Having a connecting flights in Feb was "unacceptable" to my wife and I can't disagree. Worrying about missing a connection in Feb, plus traveling with my twerp without the TVs is not worth the savings to me. I priced american prior to booking and it was 400 total or so less but the flights stunk as well. If/when I go in April on my own, I am much more flexible with the airline situation but not with the family. I had a travel credit with Jetblue so that helped a little but not much, lol. Another bonus is it should give us enough points to fly for free this summer if I don't burn them before then. Points go soooo far in the summer I will probably hold off using them before then.

As the kid(s) get older it is much easier to fly with connectors.

Flights on non-peak trips out of Boston are reasonable on Jet Blue but they soak us on vacation weeks. Our summer air is typically under $500 each.
