Orange Fish Festival

We will be doing a fund raiser on March 13 in Aruba. The fund raiser is called the "Orange Fish Festival" and will benefit the homeless dogs and cats of Aruba. Both Animal Rights Aruba (ARA) and the Animal Relief Foundation Aruba (www.ARFaruba.com) will be working together to put on this event. ALL the proceeds will go to spay/neuter, food, veterinary care, and locating forever homes for these sweet animals. It will be a giant fair with lots of stands including custom made jewelry, paintings, Aruba souvenirs ,Flea Market, games for the kids, face painting, and more. Additional details will follow but right now, we are looking for anyone who might want to give up a few hours to help at this event if you happen to be on the Island during this time. It should be alot of fun. PM me if you want to help. Also, feel free to check out our website. This past year, we placed over 50 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. As of right now, in 2011, we have spayed/neutered about 10 dogs and found homes for at least 10 puppies. We are on a roll.

Last year I had the chance to swing by at the Westin for Kiki's fundraiser and placed the first donation in their glass vase.

I just used their PayPal and made a donation "For the homeless dogs and cats of Aruba". It was quick and easy.

I'm a huge animal lover. And it was actually a dog, one of those cunucu dogs, who was the first to greet me on Aruba with the same enthusiasm and love as the one in your avatar. He came out of the shelter, the family I stayed with had him adopted. A few years later, it was the same dog I cried about after learning that he had died, getting in contact with those very poisonous frogs.

Here are the details and I will post again the week prior to the event. The Orange Fish Festival will be held at Aqua Windie's - this is a swim school right behind LaQuinta and LaCabana. They have an Olympic size swimming pool, a large restaurant, and a large covered patio. The date is Sunday, March 13 10 AM to 5 PM. There will be a big BBQ, games and face painting for the kids and lots of booths. We will have Aruba souvenirs, custom made jewelry, books, plants, nice flea market items, paintings, bake sale, pet supplies, items from the sea (one of our volunteers makes great mobiles from driftwood and we will have some seashell art). ALL the money will be going to ARA (Animal Rights Aruba) and ARFaruba - every dime will be spent on spay/neuter, food, vet care, and finding forever homes for the homeless dogs and cats of Aruba. Spread the word - anyone in Aruba is welcome to attend - there is no admission fee but we will ask for a small donation to help our cause - anything your heart tells you to donate - your decision not ours.
