Re: Oranjestad-What to Do In One Day?
For just one day since you like water sports, I'd opt to go to the Holiday Inn and spend a day doing many of their water sports activities, small waves and very easy to get in the ocean, nice beach and next to the Hyatt outdoor bars and lunch areas both at Hol Inn and Marriott as well. Great beach walking area, with wind surfers to watch, parasailing, and much more.
Seeing the other side of Aruba is OK if you have more time but just getting there and back will gobble up your day.
Hol. Inn is a public beach where you can use their chairs etc. Some of the other resorts do not allow this use. Plus at the Holiday they have the main bulk of water sports.
Of course this is just my opinion, my wife would rather spend a beautiful day in a Mall wondering around all day and I'd prefer to spend it on the beach. If you do hit the town for a while and
if you are intending to make a semi big jewelry purchase, especially for something that can be compared with in the US like watches, be cautious. Know the exact model and best price you can get in the US.
Most of all over everything, I hope you get a beautiful sunny day and as always recommended here, use a high level of sunscreen all over. You can burn up in less than an hour in direct sun.
People who have only a day to sun, tend to over do it. Enjoy Aruba and book a week or more it the future and then see the whole island. Chio
