We are just over 10 weeks away from our trip but it seems to be all I can think about! We booked this trip a little earlier than we usually like to book things and its given us way too much time to think about it. Our original trip was Wednesday - Thursday but as we have been discussing over the last few weeks, why didn't we just stay till Saturday, what would we do with those extra days off, wouldn't we rather be in Aruba? So this morning it happened...we found a great one way fare on Southwest that also gives us a nonstop flight coming home so we added extra days. Yes, we wasted a little money on the original round trip flight that we can't get back, and yes we will have to deal with a Saturday departure, but at least we won't have a layover and really those two sacrifices are a small price to pay for extra days in paradise! So now we will be spending a week at the Radisson, then moving over to Amsterdam Manor for our last 3 nights just to take in Eagle Beach and enjoy a relaxed slower pace to end the vacation. Our first trip to Aruba we did something similar, we originally booked 5 nights, then added 2 more. You would think we would have learned -always just book the extra days in the beginning!
This weekend our friends also confirmed that they will be joining us for 6 days during the middle of our trip. It will be their first time in Aruba and we can't wait to share it with them! Our activities are up in the air until we meet with our friends to see what they are most interested in. I am pretty sure we will do Jolly Pirates to celebrate my bday. We are torn between renting a jeep or a side by side ATV from Georges for one day just to ride around and get back to Baby Beach and a few other spots. Jon will be diving one or 2 days. I may take in a little downtown culture while he is doing that. I am thinking Fort Zoutman will be on my agenda. I would like to get to the Bon Bini festival on Tuesday night. Mainly I want to sit on the beach and relax relax relax! I am thinking we will limit our active days to 3-4.
Our must do first time restaurants this trip will be Madame Jeanettes, Wacky Wahoo, and Salt and Pepper. Since we will be right there, we will do a repeat trip to Passions on our last night.
I just can't wait!!!
