palapas
Does anyone know how hard it will be to get a palapa at the Riu (the end of July)? Have read quite a bit re. having to be on the beach at 7 am if you're gonna get one. Have also read about tipping the "beach staff" and getting one. If true ....how much per day, etc. Posted similar question a couple of weeks ago under hotels (received no responses). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, W.Davis

Yeah thats about right anywhere on the beach, except for the places you can stand in line and rent the day before. No sleeping in on vacation get out there and save your spot.
