Re: Passport

Yes, you need a passport. Check with your post office; they'll even do pictures. Alternative is to use the web and go to government services. I filled out all the forms online, printed them out, went to a local drugstore where they took the picture and I mailed it all off. I paid extra for expediting it and it was here in 10 days. Otherwise they say 4-6 wks. Good luck!

Re: Passport

You do NOT need a passport at this time Show a photo ID and your birth certif. with a Raised seal. Females they have been requesting marriage certificates if your name is changed, but they havent made it mandatory.

Re: Passport

If you are departing and returning before Dec 31,2005, you can still just use a raised seal birth cert and drivers license. That's my understanding.

Passports now $98 because they are tacking on a $12 security fee. I just applied for mine. No need for me to expedite as not leaving until Christmas day. I did my photo at Costco for $5. A friend got his done at the Post Office and they charged $15.

Re: Passport

You can get emergency passports at some major airports. I don't know how fast that means though.

Re: Passport

You have until December 31, 2005 to get a passport. Otherwise you still may use a birth certificate w/ raised seal and government ID.

Re: Passport

You do not have to travel to Aruba using a passport until December of this year. At that time it becomes a requirement. Right now, you can use your birth certificate along with picture ID. Etc. Check with your carrier.

Re: Passport

Actually, you DON'T need a passport until the beginning of '06. You can get in with an orginal birth certificate. I suggest you contact the Aruba Tourism Board (which is what I did before going there in July) and get official clarification. I think I got the number on this web site.
You can also check the web for passport requirements. Good luck.

Re: Passport

You don't need a passport to get to Aruba from the states. You just need your original or certified birth cerificate and a photo ID. You will need a passport if you are traveling to Aruba after December 31, 2005.

We are going in Setpember and we are using our birth certificates to save some money than if we travel again we'll have to get passports.

The lady at our post office even said to save the money and she was going to Aruba in Oct and she wasn't getting a passport either.
