'Yo out there...Planning our usual Aruba winter get away. My nephew is coming with this. He's going thru a nasty divorce & his soon-to-be ex wife has taken his passport & won't give it to him. I believe that a passport is a MUST now a days. Am I right?
Any suggestions other than something nasty?

Call your local passport office. I was told you do not need one til 2007. But check just in case

no you can still travel with an original birth certificate with raised seal and a valid drivers liscence. Starting Jan 1 , 2007 passports will be required

not this year,in 2007 you will need one,they did have the passport law set for this year,but changed it until next year,there should be a notice on this site,telling everyone of the change.

He should report it as lost or stolen & maybe she will be incarcerated!! He should be able to get a replacement from the pass port office.

I hate to contradict everyone - but passports were made MANDATORY effective 1/1/06. I have already been there this year and was informed of such.
