    people in their 20's n 30's

    Hello,

I know that Aruba is not Cancun, Miami etc... but do people in their 20's and 30's (singles) frequent the island? I'm currently trying to convince my buddies to consider Aruba for our yearly trip in 2015.

Also, does Aruba have any laws that i should know about? Thanks in advance!

It is indeed UNlike Cancun and Miami and most of not all Caribbean Islands.
It is more upscale, friendlier, cleaner and much nicer weather than so many other places.
The beaches are terrific......and yes Cancun has terrific beaches too.

Plenty of the under 40 crowd!!

College crowd, not so much as it is not as low priced as other places.

    Laws.......? You betcha.
Which law(s) would you be inquiring about?
    Cannibas? Leave it home.
    Other drugs......... ditto.

The focus is definitely on the beach. It can get pretty hopping around carnival (late February into March). Otherwise it's pretty quiet. Definitely not a college/spring break vibe.

Stringent drug laws so I wouldn't risk it.

We are mid-30s, used to party pretty hard but have now retired from that lifestyle. I would consider Aruba more of a day-drinking place than a club place (like Miami) There is a scene for you in Aruba but you will have to look for it. There are places like Gusto and Confessions right in the high rise area. Moomba on Sunday nights is a good time. There are great happy hours on the beach. If you choose Aruba, only consider the high rise area for what you are looking for. Everything is in walking distance.
Not sure when, but we will be back

I think that Aruba is more of a couples destination with couples oriented activities...... but what do I know, I'm older than dirt!

You should know that some rental car companies will not rent to people less than 25. This varies from company to company. There is the festival every Thursday night in St Nicolaas. There are lots of little places to seek out for night life in Oranjestaad and also in the High Rise area

    LOl good to know!

    out of the ordinary laws?
well there seems to be an unwritten law that...
after your first visit you are compelled to return time after time.
not sure if it is a law or some magical power that hits aruba visitors.

I love Aruba more than nearly any place on earth. That being said if I were 25 and organizing a trip with my college buddies its pretty far down the list of places I would choose. Now when you guys settle down with significant others and do trips that way, it's an incredible choice. The very things that make Aruba so perfect for couples and families makes it less than ideal for a group of guys looking to party. If Cancun is a 10 on the party scale I'd rate Aruba at a 4.

Now if this is the kind of trip where you want to enjoy good food, water sports and maybe some off-roading and are okay with the fact that 90% of the women you see probably came to the island with a date, Aruba is a fantastic choice.

Edit: There are certain times during the year when Aruba amps up the party scene like Carnival and the Electric festival. During the periods Aruba becomes much more suited for hard partying.
