    People watching while on vacation

Yesterday was a fun day for people watching. I'm a firm believer that it takes all kinds of people to make up the world but it's always interesting to see other people just being themselves and for all I know they might be watching me as well!

Yesterday at breakfast we were amused by the cheering table of men watching a soccer or football as most of the world outside the USA calls it. I guess it was the Dutch team but I couldn't tell or whom they were playing. My grand kids play soccer but the fields for kids are so much smaller. These guys really get a workout! And then there is the crowd noises with fans singing in the background which you don't see at American sporting events.

Later on when we were out at the island we watched a Latin looking couple taking lots of selfies of themselves with the flamingos. They had a cell phone out on the end of the selfie stick and I figured if they weren't careful it would end up in the water. The man was smoking big cigars and at one point had a bottle of Patron tequila out and he and his lady friend took a few chugs!

At dinner there was an older couple at at a nearby table and the wife was doing all the talking. She went on about what he ordered and how expensive it was, and then about a Christmas party they would be going to and what he should wear.... yadda yadda yadda. There was a family with kids at another table, I guess the 2 girls were 10 and 12 or so. They never stopped doodling on their cell phones. We have a rule at our home when the grand kids come.... no electronics at the dinner table.

Anyway it made for an enjoyable day.

One of my favorite past times - people watching

We have adopted the no electronics at the dinner table rule as well - home or otherwise.

We have the no electronics or TV at home but when we go to Aruba the rules change. Our son has his computer and a set of headphones and all is good with the world. We used to say we would never be those parents that would allow it but we find it works out best for all involved. Like I said, at home he does not get it but away or out to dinner even around home we allow it and all is well in our world, lol..

People watching is fun.. we were on a cruise and had a promenade room.. over looking the stores, bars and etc. Fun to see what others were doing..
As for electronics not allowed at meal time. However we do have the news on..
On vacation I got to admit my son & I use it all the time. Now DH has no interest in electronics, never text, surf the web... and no desire to learn.

I enjoyed your description of the people watching --- I always enjoy seeing what people are doing. Usually its all I do all day when on the beach!

My DH loves people watching, while I spend my morning in the sun he stays in the breezy lobby with his e-reader and people watching. I get reports of what he saw later sometimes quite amusing. Lots of time people think they are invisible I swear

I love people watching as well. The other night we were out to eat at The Chophouse and we were entertain the entire meal by one nasty person. We felt real bad for the entire staff but we talked about her all night...
