Re: percentage americans living in aruba

Not many americans live here, but many vacation here (70% of all visitros). There is a huge amount of American food chains available here.

Re: percentage americans living in aruba

According to Census held in 2000 2.3 percent of all immigrants residing in Aruba were Americans that is 700 Americans on a population of 90,506 people in that year.

In 2005 I would suspect there would be little over 1,000 Americans living in Aruba on a population of 101,500 inhabitants.

There are many fast food chains on the island but that is mainly attributed to the fact that the island is focused on tourists from the U.S. 78 percent of the 750,000 tourists to Aruba are Americans.

We have 2 Taco Bell's, 3 Mc Donald's, 2 Burger Kings, 2 Taco Bells, 2 KFC's, 3 Domino's Pizza, 2 Pizza Hut, 2 Wendy's, nearly a dozen Subways, nearly a dozen Dunkin Donuts and so on.

Other U.S. restaurants 2 Hooters, 2 Tony Roma's.

The numbers are skewed - the only Americans that "officially" live here have residency permits, which are difficult to get. I bet a lot live here, but are officially "tourists".
